So the other day, The Gent and I were out and about doing some shopping when we encountered a Boy Scout out in front of a store begging for money.
At first, when we were approaching the store, we thought we’d get some popcorn out of the deal. But nope. He was just standing there, with his parents off to the side, asking for money. It was to support the troops. But whatever happened to selling popcorn?
Maybe the Boy Scouts have a stipulation that they can’t actually sell the popcorn like that, outright, in front of a store? But why not, the Girl Scouts do it.
I just thought it was odd and I felt put off. Of course, I gave the lad a few bucks, but still, it just rubbed me the wrong way. Don’t the Boy Scouts sell popcorn?
